in a country like india, its quite difficult to be gay, its still ok in the town but in the village people are'nt even aware.
alright, there is this assamese girls (from a village called assam) have come to our college to perform folk dance, they would be here for another 3 days and i have a horrible crush on one of the girls.
the mess up is that shes shy to talk to anyone, her sister is always around her like her bodygaurd, she is very very very very timid!
but still, i tried getting her alone built a conversation and i told her the way i feel about her.... (after her pestering me to say it cause i told her i would tell her something tomorow)
oh my god! she seems cheerful when she is alone, but her sister came by then and she went away with her to dance. (guess her sister and her dance group has a hint about me liking that girl.. and they all act quite snobish)

An incident in Assam just days before the Malegaon exposure where over 89 people lost their lives to Islamic terrorism is not discussed at all but the Malegaon incident is blown out of proportion because 4 muslims lost their lives! What about the thousands upon thousands of Hindus who have died due to Islamic terrorism? What is the worth of a Hindu's life in India under UPA?
THe UPA has ignored all calls by the father of Lt. Saurabh Kalia's father of the Indian Army, who was tortured to death by the Pakistan Army during Kargil against the Geneva convention but they are very active to prosecute Purohit from the Indian Army! Lt. Kalia was murdered as a POW in Pakistan, his face was not recognisable, his eyes had been gouged out, his jaw cut off, his private parts dismembered yet the UPA fails to pursue the case with the Human rights arm of UN!
Yet this same Congress party is very proactive in criminalising Lt. Col. Purohit of the Indian Army! Why?
Is this how India should treat it's heroes? We as Indians owe a great debt of gratitude to the men in the Indian Army who have laid down their very lives to protect us! Where is our conscience? A friend of mine runs a tea shop and has at least 80 lbs of a black tea which was quite nice in its day, four years ago, but today is loosing its oomph. It's an Assam and still has some nice maltiness to it, but the aromatic parts of its flavor have all evaporated away. Any ideas for what it could be used for? Any recipes, or idea for places that would buy a lot of staleish tea? Maybe it could be used for a lot of kombucha? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks!

1) When Hindu extremists declared their intention to destroy Babri masjid, SP was in power in UP, & Congress in centre. If they were determined, they could stop happening that pathetic incident. But they didn't took necessary steps(to gain political gain from it?). Today ,demolition of Babri masjid is considered as the most influential fact behind the spread of terrorism in India.
2)Congress intentionally kept quiet on Bangladeshi trespassing in Assam. Today, the social geography of Nomni Assam has totally changed for this reason. This angered many Assamese people & ULFA was created. Their struggle over two decades has claimed many lives. Now IB is saying that ULFA has joined their hands with Bangladeshi terrorists.
3) In the same way, CPM in WB encouraged trespassing, provided ration cards to illegal Bangladeshis to enrich their vote-bank. Today, WB is considered as the 'safe passage' for the terrorists.
4) SP in UP ignored activities of SIMI. Even a few weeks ago, they demanded to lift ban on SIMI. Meanwhile, UP is now a stronghold of SIMI.
Do you people still think that extremists like SIMI or RSS are more harmful than these so called 'secular' politicians ?
I'm not against secularism, my point is that the way secularism is practiced in our country,it is acting as a catalyst for the extremist groups

my sister is married into an assamese home (we are true blue Punjabies). She is expecting her first baby and will go for the delivery to her in-laws place in Assam. We want to know what are the rituals - please read (giving gifts to in-laws or anyone else)- involved in the function 1 month after the baby's birth. We want to be prepared and dont really want to look uninformed or unprepared, when we go there.
Please do help us in this. We could go the punjabi way too but still its better if we conform to their customs. And do not suggest i ask my sister or her husband - both r totally uninformed :)

I understand this is humanitarian. But I believe this has to be reasonable. We have our own people suffering from floods in Orissa and Assam. How much did we contribute from TamilNadu to those victims. Our own house is on fire, we can't help it. But we're trying to help the rest. How much money is swindled in this ? Give money in to the hands of the politicians is equivalent to dumping in the drain. If at all they wanted to help, they could go to the charitable institutions. Why our people don't learn their lesson ?
I'm not saying don't give to the affected people across the world. If a family member is affected, would you look after your family first or the neighbour. But some of you are telling look after the neighbour.
This also shows the patriotism towards our nation and our people.

I am myself from Darbhanga Bihar & my family has settled
in Mumbai for 3 generations. The Mumbaikars are extremely kind & hospitable to genuine workers, from anywhere in India. But they should NOT be rubbed the wrong way.
Since Lalooji has taken over Railways, Vacancies in Rlys @ Mumbai are being advertised ONLY in Patna , Gaya & UP Newspapers.Consequently, Marathi candidates dont even know about the recruitment for Posts in M umbai.
Marathi unemployed can NOT remain just mute spectators to this Hijack of their rightful employment by Lalooji . The physical action on Bihari youths yesterday by MNS volunteers is FULLY justified on this back ground. Why did Laloo loot Bihar mercilessly for 15 years & reduced us Biharis to a beggarly status?Let him create employment there itself & stop this massive exodus of lumpen Biharis to Mumbai & other cities. Remember, in Assam our bihari brethern were KILLED by the locals recently.
On this background it appears that It is Lalooji & NOT RAJ Thakre who is mentally unbalanced.
IKindly let me have your dispassionate take on this issue.

OK i just wanted to know what etnicity my great grandmother belongs to. She is from Trinidad & Tobago. her mothers surname is ROJAS (spanish I think) and her fathers is ASSAM ( which I reckon is an Indian surname).
I heard my mom that she is Native American. But if she is..doesnt she need like a Native American Surname? something like that? doesnt she need to belong to some tribe?
Is there by any chance that surnames are not that revelant in this case?
also the place where she comes from is AROUCA in Trindad & Tobago where there were amerindians...
what u mean half indian? as in INDIA from the EAST?
Also, because ASSAM seems to be an East Indian surname
